Physics Laboratory

The Physics Laboratory for Undergraduate Engineering Students at MIST is a thoughtfully designed and fully equipped facility spanning 3,140 ft², accommodating up to 60 students per session. A dedicated team including a lab assistant, lab attendant, Assistant Technical Officer (ATO), and Technical Officer (TO) ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of all laboratory activities.

Serving Level 1, Term 1 and Term 2 students across all engineering departments, the laboratory provides a solid foundation in experimental physics. It features a comprehensive range of apparatus covering electricity, optics, heat, and the general properties of matter, enabling students to directly observe and explore fundamental physical laws.

Through hands-on experiments, students develop critical skills in measurement, data analysis, error evaluation, and scientific reporting. The laboratory’s mission is to deepen understanding of core physical principles through systematic experimentation, equipping students to apply physics effectively in their engineering coursework and future professional practice.
