Lt Col Khondaker Sakil Ahmed, PhD, PEng, MASCE

Maj Khondaker Sakil Ahmed, PhD, PEng is currently working as “Associate Professor” of the Department of Civil Engineering of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) with the specialization in the area of Civil & Structural engineering. Besides academics and research collaboration, he has been involved in a number of large projects more particularly building and bridges. Prior to join at MIST, he was working as “Research Fellow” in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of National University of Singapore (NUS). At NUS, besides doing analysis and design of noble composite structure, he is also involved in structural design of offshore Jack-up Rig for Singapore Amerin. Previously, he was also working as “Senior Design Engineer” of RJ Crocker Consultants (RJC), Novena, Singapore.
Dr Ahmed possesses in-depth knowledge in structural engineering that he achieved during his PhD study and 10 years’ experience in Singapore and Bangladesh. He has a broad range of expertise in diversified field particularly in Civil and Structural Engineering as well as geotechnical foundations.
He has already become an enlisted Resident Engineer of Institute of Engineers Singapore (IES), Professional Engineer of BPERB
and also enlisted by RAJUK for designing any size and type of structure. He is also a Member of American Society of Civil Engineers (MASCE) and Institute of Structural Engineers (MSEI).
